John Montesante’s Quintet continues with the band’s dynamic Jazz Thursdays this week at the welcoming Golden Gate Hotel (238 Clarendon St, South Melbourne) at 7pm, when songstress Jackie Bornstein will charm with her vocals and repartee, while saxophonist Aaron Michael will delight.

We wonder why bookings are rather slow this week and thought perhaps many of you don’t know her, although she is prominent in the Jazz scene. If you click on this link, it will give you a glimpse:


Doors 6.30pm. Dinner and drinks available for purchase all evening too and there is free street parking after 6pm.

Mick Pacholli

Mick created TAGG – The Alternative Gig Guide in 1979 with Helmut Katterl, the world’s first real Street Magazine. He had been involved with his fathers publishing business, Toorak Times and associated publications since 1972. 

Mick was also involved in Melbourne’s music scene for a number of years opening venues, discovering and managing bands and providing information and support for the industry.

Mick has also created a number of local festivals and is involved in not for profit and supporting local charities.
